A Geoscientist by background, Steve Roberts joined BP in 1978 after graduating from Durham University, England, with a BSc in Geology and Geophysics.
A British national, Steve has worked in multiple locations for BP spanning a 32 year career covering exploration, appraisal, mature field development and for the last 10 years Information Technology & Services roles.
Steve has held various E&P positions in London, Aberdeen, Alaska, Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Vietnam and Houston. He has been seconded into other companies to represent BP 3 times during his career.
Steve is currently based in Sunbury, having moved back from Houston, at the end of 2003, where he held the position of Upstream Applications Manager for 3 years. Under the current IT&S organisation Steve now holds the position of VP Common Digital Solutions; E&P Disciplines and is accountable for driving the development and adoption of standardised IT solutions for all the E&P specific technical disciplines.
Outside of work Steve enjoys outdoor exercise, including walking and cycling. His other interests include classical and jazz music and solving mathematical puzzles.
